SAP S/4HANACloud provides the customer with a Localization Toolkit. This kit gives guidance on covering the requirements on top of the available localization features for the current local versions, additionally, it works as a combination of many built-in localization features.
The Localization Toolkit for SAP S/4HANA Cloud documentation available on the SAP Community page provides the customer clarity in realizing a business need independently. It aims to reduce the implementation time by providing several useful links and code snippets in one place. This makes it a knowledge-sharing platform where the SAP localization development experts share their best practices with the extension developer ecosystem at the customer or partner’s side.
The Localization toolkit leverages the existing SAP technology and tools to tackle specific fiscal or legal localization scenarios by integrating the different elements it offers, in addition, it provides solutions that support customers effectively carrying out their daily business.
One of the main elements that the Localization Toolkit offer is the extensibility feature; this feature covers a broad spectrum of topics that allow customers and partners to adapt standard business software to their business needs. Including business configuration, integration, custom fields and logic, layout adaptation of user interface (UI), forms, and reports. It also covers custom terminology and translation for customer-specific applications.
Extensibility in SAP S/4HANA Cloud can be divided into two parts: Side-By-Side Extensibility through SAP Cloud Platform (used to extend by building new apps on the SAP cloud platform, consuming SAP S/4HANA cloud SDK and API’s) and In-App Extensibility through built-in capabilities (used to extend and adapt the core of SAP s/4HANA with built-in In-App extension capabilities).
The most recent element included in the Localization Toolkit is the SAP Central Business Configuration. This new solution will make it possible to configure business processes across different SAP products from one central place. SAP Central Business Configuration will first allow the configuration of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, essentials edition, but aims to the seamless implementation of end-to-end business processes across SAP’s Intelligent Enterprise Suite.
